Sheikh Hasina's Call for Nation Building

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave a call for concerted efforts to free society from corruption while she was talking to local people and government officials at her birth-place in Bangabondhu Bhaban at Tungipara, Gopalgonj. She expressed her desire of progress at all levels making the country free from corruption. In the same meeting, she has criticized the BNP-Jamat-led alliance government for making Bangladesh a corrupt country and urged the people to come up to free the society from the corruption created by the BNP-Jamat led alliance.
Considering the matter from a neutral point of view, it will not be wise for a peace-loving senior citizen to go to explore who are responsible in making a corrupt nation in the world history. Rather it will be safe to say that we all are responsible for bringing the country at this stage. But how?--- Some people are directly involved in corruption and they enjoy their activities as their rights. Some people support them and co-operate them in their illegal activities. They are more harmful than those who are directly involved. The third group is common people who observe and know the persons who are involved in corruption but they remain silent because of their personal safety.
It is a shameful matter for the whole nation particularly for the new generation who are growing up with the mentality of living in a culture of corruption. Some boys and girls take it very easy and consider themselves over smart. Unfortunately, a large number of college and university-going students have the same mindsets. When inquired to know the reasons of their diversion from the right path, the answers they give are not at all satisfactory for the guardians and the society as well. Proper initiative is the must from today and not tomorrow. Whose responsibility is to start now? It is responsibility of the present government to take the initiative, and the Head of the Government, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has done that recently at Tungipara giving a call to the people of all levels. It is not an end of responsibilities of the government. It is just a start. The activities must move in the systematic way. At initial stage, a committee can form composing of honest and wise responsible dedicated citizens, political leaders and the responsible government officials who really understand the causes and solutions of the complexities of the societies. Then a survey or study program should start among at least one million people to identify the percentage of people who sincerely want corruption free societies. It might sound a laughing matter to many people but this is very important for various purposes including writing the real history of digital Bangladesh. On basis of the survey reports, the next initiatives should adopt.
We are lucky because we have huge examples in front of us to show how to start the project for making corruption free country. Those countries have become almost corruption free facing the similar situations or worse than ours. Bangladesh has friendly diplomatic relations with many of them. Now the question is which process we should adopt. If we go on religious ways to solve our problems, we should follow the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that is almost corruption free at least in social life. It is obvious that huge criticisms will come from different corners with not so sweet languages such as brutal activities. In response, the example of existing crossfire in the country is sufficient to identify the necessities.
Alternatively, we can adopt the science based technological process, the most effective system now considered all over the world. We do not need to import technologists from other countries. We are now efficient enough to design our technologies according to our needs. Rather it might be difficult for the imported technologists to understand the real problems and cultures of our communities and societies. If we start to design project on our own ways, national scientific experts and technologists will grow up from among our societies and communities.
We need to remember that technology cannot borrow or purchase. People as well as country need to acquire technology for individuals and the country as well. Now a days technology has become so powerful that it can detect any kind of costly minerals from anywhere even at a depth of thousands of feet from the surface of the earth. It can also detect and kill the smallest bacteria of nano-range from the complicated human body. Using technology, detection of criminals from anywhere in the planet is no more a difficult matter.
On effect of the holy month of Ramadan (Fazilat of Ramadan), people can be attracted towards the path of religion. This initiative might help reduce the gap of misunderstandings between Science and Religion. There are huge similarities between the two in many respects. Even world famous scientist Einstein has agreed that without Religion, the concept of science could not move so far. If we go back to the history of scientific developments, we find that the Muslim Philosophers dominated science.
Alternatively, many people have very damaging ideas. They believe science is the enemy of religion. But the reality is; Religion particularly Islam based on honesty and truth. Science is also based on honesty, truth and faith. Science does not understand the language of dishonesties and false statements. There should be the strongest ties between religion and science. Then we can shape the country "CORRUPTION FREE" and that is the ultimate goal of Sheikh Hasina and the peace loving citizens of Bangladesh.
